I'm Jill, the 28 year old mommy to 2 handsome ;) young boys, Kekito (age 3) and Danny Boy (age 1). I am an Air Force veteran, who misses working on her big beautiful plane. My little rug rats keep my head spinning and my feet chasing... so I don't have much free time these days. But what time I do have is being poured into this blog as an outlet for my stress and creativity. Before having kids (a.k.a.: when I had all the time in the world- but didn't realize it yet), much of my free time was spent in creative pursuits such as painting, photography, or museum hopping. These days I'm just finding my place as a mommy. A mommy to two little men: one with Autism, the other with E.D.Q.S. (Extreme Drama Queen Syndrome); both of whom love to duke it out with each other on an hourly basis..... ;) sigh....
I fell into blogging somewhat by accident before my son had
very obvious signs of Autism. By the
time it became more apparent what was going on, there was a big break in
blogging to focus on Early Intervention.
By the time we were phasing out of that, I turned again to blogging. To my delight I realized what an amazing resource it was as an outlet, source of support, and
informative way to deal with living each day with Autism in the house, as well
as my own ADD. This is something that
helps me tremendously. From it I have drawn friendship, wisdom, many laughs,
and a wealth of information from the blogs I follow. I hope to pass on a fraction of that to a few
others.
Long term goals for my personal self? I plan to finish school and become a special education teacher or a services provider with Early Intervention. Come next fall, I hope to start working at a local elementary school as a teacher's aide in a special education classroom to get my feet wet and learn a bit more!
